Watercolours

Watercolours were an important medium for Fritz Griebel. Like the silhouettes, they helped him to express immediately a spontaneous idea, a quick gesture, a daring experiment or the artistic imagination. Early flower watercolours of the 20s still show the influence of Dürer on the young Griebel whereas his Italian landscapes of the 30s reveal his personal style.
